Mathematics

We teach the mathematics National Curriculum using a maths mastery approach to develop a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of key concepts.

We broadly follow the White Rose maths scheme, which is designed to embed key mathematical skills in depth and provides opportunities for children to become fluent in the fundamentals of maths before developing in mathematical reasoning and problem solving. We strive to ensure that they are fluent in place value, number sense and key facts such as multiplication tables so they are ready for their next stage of study.

The school makes regular use of online maths resources which can also be accessed at home. This allows pupils to work at their own level and provides them with challenge and an incentive to make progress.
